Afterword: The River

This image captures literally "cradle to grave" memories. In college, I was greatly influenced by Hesse's book 'Siddartha" and his depiction of the river. This picture of the Hudson River is near where my family would go in the Adirondacks every summer when I was a child/teenager and it continues as THE family "go to" to this day. Additionally, my own family have spent many winter vacations only a few miles from this exact spot up the mountain to 13th Lake cross-country skiing ... many, many fond memories. And as the caption depicts, I plan on having my ashes deposited in the river where those two roads intersect. The connection with the chapter content continues the river analogy of everything in life flowing relentlessly forward with all of life's circumstances, blessings, and problems to new hope.
